Ricky Adams

Hey y’all! My name is Ricky, and I am the Worship Pastor here at New Community. I am originally from Maine, but moved to south Florida when I was about 5. I lived there for almost 25 years before moving here to Elizabeth City to take this job. I married my awesome wife Adrianne in July of 2008 and we three beautiful children: Adalynn, Boston and Bethany. 

I have been involved with playing music in and out of churches for 18+ years and have been leading worship for the past 5+. I felt called to lead worship when I put my passion and my burden together and found what God was calling me to do. My passion for music plus my burden for those who have been hurt by the Church come together and in turn, I fell in love with reaching those far from God through music. 

My goals are to help those who are far from God to see and hear what authentic worship might look like in my life and in the lives of our musicians and learn how to apply it to their lives as well. I want to build a team of leaders who lead not only from the stage but in every area of their lives. 

My favorite verse is Micah 6:8 which says “And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
